Crafty-ness
Yesterday I bought a sewing machine. I ended up with the Kenmore 16231 made by Janome. It's a mechanical machine, while most of the machines on the market today are electronic or computerized. While those machines are supposed to be quality, I find it hard to trust them. I like the feeling of when I turn the dial to change stitches I can hear and feel that the parts have moved, rather than pushing a button and hoping that the electronics did there job. Also, I know the type of people that design hardware and those that program it, which makes me all the more feel that a good old mechanical one will do me better.

I don't know what aspirations for sewing are just yet. I think mainly I'm planning to make stuff for my apartment. Chair covers, curtains, etc. It should be fun.

I find this to be hilarious and sadly resonant.
